- What you’ll need:
- Wool – 3 different (matching) colours
- 2 x chains. One w=must be shorter than the other. I used chains where the one was 6 links shorter.
- Step 1: Take a long piece of wool, fold it in half and tie it to the first link in the chain. One of the chains will have two wool colours. Tape the wool down for an easier, controlled technique.
- Step 2: On the side with 2 colours, take one colour and thread it through the next available link in the other chain.
- Step 3: On the side with two colours, take the colour top colour, and thread it through the next available link in the other chain. Repeat this.
- Step 4: Because the one chain is shorter, 6 some of the links in the shorter chain must have two colours through. These links can be spread out on the chain.
*Hint: Mark the number of links you have double threaded. This way you make sure that you do not thread too little or too many links. My short chain is 6 links shorter, so I need to double thread 6 links.
- Step 5: Once you have threaded the entire chain, tie a knot for each colour.
- Step 6: Braid the ends of both side of the chain, and end it with a big knot.
And the result is a beautiful braided wool necklace, that is the perfect accessory for winter.
