DIY: Aspirin Mask

I know what you’re thinking “Anje you’ve lost your mind! An aspirin mask? On my face?” And to be completely honest, when I first read about it I thought it was ludicrous too.

But on MakeUpAlley it scored the best of all beauty products on the site – including hair, body and nail care. As a retired gambler, the odds look good to me!

Why is aspirin good for skin care?

This mask works by disintegrating aspirin and using the remaining material as a mask, and later as an exfoliant.

Since aspirin is a beta-hydroxy acid, a common ingredient that is often found in the masks and facial products made by upscale cosmetic companies that come with a hefty price tag, it works fantastically as a way to make sure your skin is healthy, vibrant, and clear.

Even if you have no problem with acne, consider using a mask of aspirin for to condition your skin and keep it looking healthy and youthful.

  • You will need:

  1. 2- 3 aspirin tablets
  2. 2 T (30 ml) of warm honey. You don’t need to use honey, you can use water or milk to. I am just in love with honey and what it does for my skin. To read more on the benefits of honey, read here.
  • Step 1: Crush the aspirin into a powder. Don’t use powder aspirin, as the chunky pieces exfoliates your face as you wash it off.

  • Step 2: Mix the honey and the aspirin together.

  • Final step: Apply to your face or problem area.

I don’t really have skin problem, so I couldn’t see a difference in the pimple department, but it did make my skin feel über soft and lovely! I love this mask. A lot!
