My Feet Look Like Edward Cullen {DIY: Glitter shoes}

When you hear/read glitter shoes you either think about Dorothy that wants to go home, or strippers.  But glitter shoes are trending this season. Jimmy Choo and {the love of my feet’s life} Christian Louboutin are fans of the glitter shoe too. And anything Mr. Louboutin like, I like!

Pretty shoes make me happy… Especially Christian Louboutin shoes!

If you are like me, a total shoe whore, you would understand my love and appreciation for the perfect shoe.

During every red carpet event I obsess more over the shoes and accessories than the dress (or skeleton wearing it). Reason: the dress is the easy part, it is the combination of perfect shoes and accessories that defines a true stylista. And if one chooses the always pretty-pretty Louboutin, like Olivia Wilde at the Golden Globes, one can never go wrong.

Unfortunately, my tiny salary only allows me to dream about my red sole soul-mate, so here is a tutorial on making your shoes just so much more of a **shoe**

  • What you’ll need

  1. Heels.  Think platform. Think 5 inch heel. Think proper stripper shoes – without the glass sole of course.
  2. White ribbon. I used the non-shiny type.
  3. Sparkly buttons
  4. Sellotape. Lots of sellotape.
  5. Red spray paint
  6. Glue gun. The best invention since the Pill.
  • Step 1: To make sure you only get the sole red, tape the whole entire shoe and leave the sole open.

  • Step 2: Spray paint the shoe. Make sure you are in a well ventilated area. Spray 2 coats if you see fit.

  • Step 3: When the paint is dry, take off the tape. You can stop here if you like. The shoes look pretty rad already.

  • Step 4: Cut the ribbon in half. in the middle of each half, sew the sparkly jeweled button.

  • Step 5: With the hot glue, start in the middle and glue the ribbon and button to the shoe.

Step 6: Cut the excess ribbon off, and burn the edges so prevent unraveling.

Tada! Million dollar (looking) shoes

Now, will someone please invite me to red carpet event so that I can wear these puppies. That is all, thank you.
